Help Leonardo DiCaprio protect tigers during IFAW's Animal Action Week October 4 - 10, 2010

Majestic wild tigers are disappearing quickly from the forests, jungles, and grasslands they call home. They are losing their natural habitats to logging and human settlements, and losing their lives to poachers who sell their pelts and other body parts to greedy businessmen.

You can help save tigers by joining with me and IFAW for this year's Animal Action Week, October 4-10. Our theme, "Born to be Wild: Saving the Majestic Tiger," celebrates this symbol of beauty and power, highlights ways we can alert the world to the threats tigers face, and provides steps we can take to help protect them.

The numbers are troubling: Habitat loss and poaching has reduced wild tiger numbers by more than 95% and threaten to wipe them out completely. In fact, there are now as few as 3,000 tigers surviving in the wild.

Since 2010 is the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese lunar calendar, this is the perfect opportunity to call attention to the plight of wild tigers.

Here's how you can join our vital mission to save tigers:

* Visit our animal action web page today and learn about the many ways you can support our critical efforts;
* Help children raise their voice to world leaders on behalf of tigers;
* Spread the word - forward this email to your family and friends!

Please join our mission to protect tigers today.

Together we CAN save the wild tiger and make sure that its majesty, mystery, and beauty can continue to thrill the imaginations of generations to come.

Sincerely,
Leonardo DiCaprio
