Screaming a little inside

This is the "after" shot - after this man's severed right hand was reattached to his wrist, after his right arm had healed up enough to allow the doctors to do so.

But before they could reattach the hand, they had to keep it alive somehow. The way they did that was to SURGICALLY ATTACH IT TO HIS ANKLE WITH A LOT OF PINS STICKING OUT OF HIS FLESH AND THE WHOLE THING IS JUST WRONG-LOOKING. I will let you decide if you want to see it at The Daily Mail.

Thank you to Marguerite. I think.

Some people make guns with 3D printers...

This guy made a shoe that carries your iPhone.

They were commissioned by FreshFiber, a company that specializes in personalized 3D printed accessories, based on their most popular iPhone cases. Alan Nguyen, the artist, calls it a mash-up shoe, likening it to a DJ creating a new mix out of other people's products. And it comes in three colors.

technology

I came across this photo today (on Neatorama) of an IBM350 memory storage unit being loaded onto a plane in 1956:

Here's another view. It was called the 350 because it used 350 discs to store - get ready - 5MB worth of data.

In comparison, here's a man holding two Samsung memory chips, created in 2009, which hold 32GB each. That's a total of 65,536 megabytes, or more than 13,000 times the storage capacity of the IBM350.

Do you think those guys on the plane had any idea what the future would hold?
