If you like disasters the way *I* like disasters...
Fortunately other people with way more talent than me are also odd ducks, and back in 2009 this time-lapse animation of Pompeii's final day was created for the Melbourne Museum:
Now there's also an animation of the Titanic sinking, and this one is not time-lapse, it's all 2 hours and forty minutes of watery terror.
In both of these videos, there are sound effects but no people, which gives them a really eerie feel.

First there was the vodka poured over a woman's breasts before bottling

Now there's vagina essence beer.
Brewed by the Order of Yoni, Bottled Instinct beer is a "sour ale containing femininity, sensuality, charm, passion, sexuality by using vaginal lactobacillus bacteria in the brewing process."
If you would care to encourage this kind of idiocy there is an Indigogo campaign running. As of this writing they've only gotten 279 of their 150,000 Euro goal.

The Shining with chickens is some weird shit
For some reason the thing that makes me giggle most is the chicken standing on Jack's head when he goes into Room 237.
The song is on Soundcloud.

Parrot man, Ted Richards

Here he models the implants designed to keep his glasses on his face. Instead of using, you know, his ears.

As parrots don't wear glasses, I'd expect his next move to be lasik.

The 1906 SF earthquake

vintage everyday has a collection of photos from the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and this photo struck me as the most amazing -- someone just happened to capture this tower falling, and people running to avoid being crushed.
